This poll is mostly aimed at year 12's. As year 13 wont be here for much longer and wouldn't benefit from a new stereo. Plus in the next new school year you could force the new year 12 to help pay for a new stereo, but what amount is reasonable to ask, and what would you be willing to pay?
Music is close
to all of our hearts, and the music that is played in the common room is a
subject of constant disagreement.
Is there far to much Indie and punk rock played? Does dance and trance never
get a look in? What about the numerous boybands, too much? too little? as
for the classic records are they on all the time or do you feel we need more
nostalgia? Is it always the same people at the stereo. Should we introduce
rules or are we fine as we are?
The sixthform is made up of a large cross section of people and consequently a large selection of musical tastes. Therefore shouldn't this be reflected in the music that is played on the stereo. We don't believe that the majority should win over, we reckon that there should be an even mix of all types of music. Very few people want to listen to the screaming slipknot and limpbizkit all lunch time just as few people want to endure thumping house for an hour. And even fewer want to listen to sickly clean cut boy bands for too long. The music we play should be more varied and every one should feel able to walk up to the stereo, CD in hand and play something that they want to hear. Can we all try to vary the music that is played more during a single lunch or break time.
Have your say here on musical issues and well try to find out what the sixth forms tastes are.
